Best of The Seekers

(UK: SCX 6298)
General Notes: This is the last of the official '60s releases for The Seekers. It was released after the group broke up in July of 1968. Simply and appropriately titled, the Best of The Seekers attempts to capture the spirit of the groups big hits. The track selection varies for the album and there is also little in the way of liner notes - in fact, none at all. The Best of The Seekers was released in October 1968 and ironically became The Seekers' first number one album. It remained in the pop charts for an amazing 150 weeks.
Special Note: The mono version of this LP (SX 6268) has the original single version of 'Walk with me', while the stereo issue has a markedly different, slower version. The latter has become more familiar as it is the one included on various CD compilations.
